Patient and visitor shuttle bus

We run a free patient and visitor shuttle bus service between our three hospitals.

The service starts at 1.15pm from Pontefract, 1.45pm from Pinderfields and 2.15pm at Dewsbury.

It runs every hour during the day and early evening, seven days a week, to cover normal visiting hours.

Patients and visitors will be asked to provide details of which ward/department they are going to when using the shuttle bus service.

New service as of Monday 21 July

Passengers will be welcomed aboard the 113 express, a new free bus service carrying visitors between Dewsbury, Pontefract and Wakefield hospitals. Service 113 will launch next Monday (21 July), taking patients and visitors between the three hospitals, seven days a week.

The hourly express service, set up following months of work between the trust, West Yorkshire Combined Authority and Tetleys Motor Services, is a result of feedback from the Meeting the Challenge public consultation. During the consultation, people said that they needed a convenient, reliable way of travelling between the three sites.

The new timetable will operate hourly between 8am and 8pm Monday to Fridays and 1pm to 8pm Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays.  All minibuses on this free service will be fully accessible.

The new service timetable is now available: Timetable - 113 bus service (as of 21 July 2014) [pdf] 703KB
