Humerus fracture
A proximal humeral fracture is a break in the upper part of your arm below the shoulder joint. This normally results from a fall or a direct blow to the area.
Most fractures do not require surgery. Your arm will be placed in a supportive sling and your consultant will tell you how long it has to be worn for. During this time it is important that you keep normal neck, elbow, wrist and hand movements as these joints can easily become stiff.
