The children’s ward at Pinderfields Hospital have received a kind donation of £530, from the mother of a little boy who was admitted to the ward with pneumonia earlier this year.
Jane Aspinall's life was turned upside down when her son George, was admitted to Pinderfields Hospital at just 5 weeks old, in February this year, where he spent the best part of a month on the children's ward.
Jane said "The staff on the ward were amazing and made what was a horrendous experience bearable.”
To say thank you to the staff on the ward for their amazing care, Jane generously volunteered to run in the York Half Marathon last month and raise money for the children’s ward at Pinderfields Hospital.
Jane exceeded her initial target to raise £200, and instead raised a fantastic £530 to help enhance children's care and experience at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.
Fundraising Manager, Kirsty Jowett, from the MY Hospitals Charity, said: “We are so thankful for Jane's commitment and generosity to give back to our children’s ward. Jane’s incredible support enables us to continue providing those added extras, which truly make a massive difference for patients and families in our care.”
