The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and LloydsPharmacy have enhanced their partnership at Dewsbury and District Hospital by extending the opening hours and providing over the counter medicines in addition to the outpatient pharmacy service provided.
A ceremony to celebrate the newly introduced improvements to the LIoyds Pharmacy at Dewsbury and District Hospital took place on Wednesday 5 July.
The ribbon was cut by Jules Preston, MBE, Chairman of The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, along with Steve Howard, Quality and Clinical Standards Director and Superintendent Pharmacist for LloydsPharmacy.
The Lloyds Pharmacy will be open an additional 27 hours per week.
Phil Deady, Director of Pharmacy at the Trust, said: “We are passionate about providing high quality pharmacy services to our outpatients, and I’m delighted to be working in partnership with Lloyds Pharmacy. We’ll be working together to make sure our patients receive the medicines they need, when they need them, along with advice on how best to take them. The improvements will significantly enhance the standard of our outpatients’ services, and our offering for patients, staff and visitors.”
Commenting on the changes, Andrew Willetts, Lloyds Pharmacy Hospitals and Homecare Director said: “We are excited to be working closely with the Trust to enhance the outpatient experience through our on-site pharmacy.
“We’ve made a number of improvements, such as including a private patient consultation area and increasing our opening hours. We’ve also increased our range of over the counter medicines so that those working at or visiting the hospital – as well as outpatients - have access to more of the products they would expect from a LloydsPharmacy store.”
The LloydsPharmacy at Dewsbury & District Hospital is now open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
