A West Yorkshire family has donated a mini Tesla Model S car to the children's ward on gate 46 at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield.
Dad of two, Stuart Browning, presented the fully motorised toy car to the Hospital Play Specialists and the MY Hospitals Charity team at Pinderfields Hospital earlier this week.
Stuart said: “Our family experienced brilliant care from the staff at Pinderfields Hospital first hand last year when my son broke his arm. We hope the car brings lots of enjoyment and smiles to children on the ward.”
Kirsty Jowett, Fundraising Manager, at The MY Hospitals Charity, added: “Our heartfelt thanks go to the Browning family for their generous donation. Our young patients will be so excited to drive from the ward to theatre – it will really help to take their mind off what can be a very scary and daunting time.”
The Tesla owners Club UK have donated over 160 ride-on electric Tesla cars to hospitals across the UK and are planning to donate over 170 this year. This is a UK wide co-ordinated scheme aimed at helping kids find joy in the most difficult of times.
