Staff on the Children’s Assessment Unit at Dewsbury and District Hospital are enjoying making sure that the young patients in their care remain in high spirits over the festive season.
Sarah Seymour, Play Leader at Dewsbury and District Hospital said: “We like to make sure the children have an enjoyable and positive experience over the festive period by providing all the Christmas comforts they could possibly need.”
The Unit recently held their Christmas party which was sponsored by Starlight Children’s Foundation who also provided party bags for the children.
Tesco Extra at Batley, Mecca Bingo at Dewsbury, and Yorkshire Building Society at Dewsbury have kindly donated Christmas presents (large selection of toys) to the Unit. Further donations include:
Sophie Hawkins - advent calendars and toys
Batley Funeral Service – selection boxes
Karen Harper of the Co-op at Gomersal – selection boxes
United Reformed Church at Heckmondwike – Christmas toys.
Sarah added: “We would like to thank the organisations and individuals for their generous contributions, which will go towards making sure the children’s stay over Christmas is a cheerful one.”
There are no visiting restrictions on Christmas day and parents and families are invited to come and spend time with their children and enjoy the celebrations as much as possible.
