Makeover for ultrasound room at Pinderfields Hospital

An ultrasound room at Pinderfields Hospital has been turned in to a dedicated children and dementia friendly space thanks to funding made available through the MY Hospitals Charity.

The room has been redesigned to include six mounted visual art light boxes with interchangeable tiles that are used to create a calming effect for patients.

The light boxes add colour and warmth to an otherwise plain room improving patient experience and aiding distraction from what can sometimes be a daunting appointment.

MY Hospitals Charity is the charitable arm of the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust.

Keith Ramsay, Chair of The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and MY Hospitals Charity said:

“On behalf of the Trust I would like to thank everyone who has made a donation to MY Hospitals Charity.

“This is just one of the many examples of how fundraising and donations to the charity are being used to improve patient experience, providing equipment above and beyond what’s normally funded by the NHS.

“It is through your generous donations we are able to improve upon the high quality healthcare services we aim to achieve in our hospitals, to improve the quality of people’s lives.”
