The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust and LloydsPharmacy have renewed their partnership aiming to enhance on-site outpatient pharmacy services at Pinderfields Hospital, by opening a brand new LloydsPharmacy dispensary on site.
A ceremony to mark the opening of the new outpatients’ dispensing pharmacy took place on Thursday 24 August 2017.
The ribbon was cut by Jules Preston MBE, Chairman of The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, along with Adam Crampsie Head of Operations & Speciality Service Design at LloydsPharmacy Healthcare Services.
The new outpatients pharmacy will dispense medicines only for outpatients. The pharmacy will be open an extra 27 hours per week compared to the previous pharmacy.
The LloydsPharmacy team is trained to offer expert advice and efficiently dispense medicines. They also have the opportunity to work with the Trust’s wider pharmacy team on complex issues.
Phil Deady Director of Pharmacy at the Trust, said: “We are passionate about providing high quality pharmacy services to our outpatients, and I’m delighted to be working in partnership with LloydsPharmacy. We’ll be working together to make sure our patients receive the medicines they need, when they need them, along with advice on how best to take them.”
Commenting on the site opening, Andrew Willetts, Hospitals and Homecare Director at LloydsPharmacy said: “We are excited to be working closely with the Trust to enhance the outpatient experience through our on-site pharmacy.
“A number of improvements have been made to improve the experience for outpatients, including a private patient consultation area, and an extended range of over the counter medicines on sale.”
The outpatients’ pharmacy at Pinderfields Hospital located in the main atrium is now open with extended hours from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
