The Voluntary Services team at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust are appealing to kind-hearted members of the public, to help them reach their goal of presenting a Christmas stocking to as many elderly patients within their hospitals as possible over the Christmas period.
The team are asking compassionate and generous members of the public to kindly donate small stocking items, such as; hand creams (100ml), shower gels (100ml), shampoo/conditioners (100ml), small notepads, pens/pencils, small chocolates or sweets/travel size tissues or small Christmas crackers.
Items must be small enough to be able to fit inside the stockings and toiletries must be no bigger than 100ml.
The Voluntary Services team will be making and filling the stockings from Thursday 22 November, and will be inviting members of the public to join them.
Vikki Padgett, Voluntary Services Manager, at The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said; “There are a number of elderly patients our volunteers come across who don’t have friends or family visiting them. We want them to know they are looked after and cared for over the Christmas period.”
Anyone wishing to donate items to the Christmas stockings can send their items to the Voluntary Services team based on Gate 35 (Level D) at Pinderfields Hospital or can ring the team on 01924 543451 for more information.
