Intrepid fundraisers abseiled down the front of Wakefield Cathedral to raise more than £6500 to help fund additional equipment around the Elderly Care wards at Pinderfields Hospital on Saturday 1 September.
A total of 37 hospital supporters, staff and relatives of patients tackled the 247ft descent down.
The Rapid Elderly Assessment Care Team (REACT) will be using the money raised in aid of MY Hospitals Charity, to fund additional equipment on their ward and furniture for their two newly refurbished relatives rooms to make it more homely for their patients and visitors.
The event was organised by Sarah Gray, REACT Nurse, and Jennifer Ogle, Nurse Team Leader for REACT, from the Rapid Elderly Assessment Care Team on the ACE Assessment Unit at Pinderfields Hospital.
Jennifer Ogle, Nurse Team Leader for REACT, said; “This event perfectly showcased the dedication of all our supporters and staff. All the money raised will go into improving our elderly care wards and relatives rooms so we can continue to provide excellent care for our patients in the environment they deserve.
“A big thank you to everyone who has donated and who came along, took part and supported us on the day.”
