Community Dental Service
We provide a consultant led service for referred children and adults with special requirements who cannot be seen within the General Dental Service.
About our service
We provide specialist-led dental care in paediatric and special care dentistry. The care is provided under the terms of the National Health Service (NHS) and current charges are displayed on posters in waiting areas.
Referrals are accepted from general dental practitoners, doctors and other health care professionals for patients that are unable to access or receive routine dental care in a general practice.
Not all clinics are open every day but if you have a query please contact the Newstead House Wakefield clinic where staff will be able to assist with any matters.
We strive to deliver a positive change to the oral health of the Mid Yorkshire community by providing a caring, individually-tailored service each and every time.
Going to the dentist may not be a positive experience particularly if you have a learning disability. This video is there to help and make your dental appointment a positive choice.

Brush DJ plays two minutes of your music so you brush your teeth for the right amount of time. The app has short videos on how to brush your teeth and how to clean in between them using an interdental brush or floss.
