Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is taking a zero tolerance approach to abuse and aggression towards our staff and our patients.

Zero Tolerance - Abuse is not in a day’s work

Mid Yorkshire NHS is taking a zero tolerance approach to abuse and aggression towards our staff and our patients. To help us achieve this we are asking all patients and visitors to respect the dedicated NHS staff who care for them by launching a Zero Tolerance campaign to tackle threats of violence, abuse or harassment against NHS staff.

The Zero Tolerance campaign will be promoted around our hospital sites via posters and tannoy announcments as well  as through our digital channels on here and social media. The aim is to help raise awareness of the types of intimidating behaviour NHS colleagues often face, as well as encouraging the public to report any incidents of abuse to the nearest member of NHS staff and or Mid Yorkshire Security.

Dealing with people who are abusive or aggressive towards our staff and our patients, takes us away from caring for you. We have the right to refuse treatment and take further action against anyone who threatens the safety of our staff and our patients and any incidents that are reported to us wll be investigated which could result in action being taken by the police.

Abuse is not in a day's work, so please help us focus on caring for you.
