Oncology helpline

The way we are providing our Oncology 24-hour helpline is changing.
The way we are providing our Oncology 24-hour helpline is changing.
As of 8 March 2023, the helpline at night time between 6pm and 8am, seven days a week (Monday to Sunday), will now be answered by experienced oncology nurses at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
Previously, if the helpline was accessed between 6pm and 8am Monday to Friday, this was managed by Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust.
Now, by continuing to call 01924 546272, your call will be diverted and answered by a member of staff at Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust.
This change should not affect your experience or the care you receive. The Oncology nurse will provide you with expert advice and will hand over any concerns to the team at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.
You should continue to call the number on your helpline card if you are concerned about side-effects of treatment you are experiencing or are concerned about any symptoms from your cancer.
Should you require a face-to-face assessment, the nurse answering your call will decide on the best place for that to take place.
