Staff benefits

We offer a comprehensive voluntary benefits package and a range of local discounts to all our staff.

Under the Trust’s salary sacrifice scheme employees can take advantage of; a car lease scheme, cycle scheme, home electronics scheme, childcare vouchers and there is also an option to sacrifice the whole of your childcare fee when using our onsite, high quality nursery and holiday club facilities.

At the Trust we also have a number of reward and recognition schemes to recognise the invaluable contribution teams and colleagues make towards improving the quality of our patient care. Including, MY Star – an opportunity for Trust staff to nominate a colleague or team who they feel has truly demonstrated the Trust’s values and worked beyond their duty.

All these are in addition to the standard benefits that you expect from the NHS, such as:

  • Competitive pay
  • A comprehensive and generous workplace pension scheme
  • Generous holiday entitlement with the option to buy and sell days
  • A range of support and policies to help you balance your work, family commitments and personal well-being

You can view our full employee benefits package.

MY Star

MY Star is a recognition and reward scheme for staff and volunteers at the Trust to nominate each other.

We have some great people who work here at Mid Yorkshire and we like to recognise and reward our staff who go above and beyond the call of duty and best reflect our vision of “One team striving for excellence” and demonstrate the Trust’s values of:

Caring - Ensuring quality of care is at the heart of everything we do

High standards - Taking responsibility for providing the best services and patient experience

Improving - We always look for ways to improve what we do. We encourage involvement, value contributions and listen to and positively act on feedback

Respect - Showing value and respect for everyone and treating others as they would wish to be treated.

Celebrating Excellence

Our Celebrating Excellence awards are an annual celebration of everything we have achieved together throughout the year and an opportunity to recognise and celebrate the fantastic achievements of individuals and teams across the Trust. Every day our colleagues and teams go above and beyond the call of duty to make a difference to our services, our patients and our staff. These awards are our opportunity to acknowledge these outstanding contributions and to show appreciation to our people for what they do.

Team of the week

Each week the Trust’s Executive Team decide on a Team of the Week to recognise the hard work our teams put in every day and celebrate their achievements.
