RecirculateMid Yorkshire is launching Recirculate for 2026, following a successful pilot in 2025.

The Recirculate project sources donated bikes from staff and the general public, renovates them in prison workshops and locates them with NHS key workers and others in need. Over 500 bikes have already been given away and more bikes are now needed.

If you have an adult bike you no longer need, please donate them to the Recirculate project so that they can be renovated and then given away to a member of staff at the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust.

Donate - Donations of unwanted bikes will be collected by Mid Yorkshire at a specified collection point on a designated date.

Renovate - Bikes will be renovated by prisoners in bike workshops at HMP Humber.

Locate - Refurbished bikes will be gifted to Mid Yorkshire NHS workers in need.

What our Recirculate recipients said

Find out what the recipients from the first Mid Yorkshire Recirculate bike giveaway in 2025 said about the benefits of receiving a bike.

I've enjoyed travelling to work faster, I feel like it improves my mood.

I feel relaxed after a bike ride, less stressed.

It’s given me the opportunity to spend more time with family in a different way.

Being able to clear my mind by riding the bike had been a godsend. I can’t imagine where I’d be without it.

I have improved heart rate and general physical wellbeing.

Find out more about Recirculate

Recirculate is on a mission to reduce waste and increase sustainability by sourcing unwanted products, upcycling them and providing them to key workers and others who will benefit most.. Bikes and office, school and hospital equipment and furniture are 'recirculated' and reused in hospitals, schools and charities — saving money, landfill space and resources.

The Recirculate project was established in 2021 by Equans, InfraRed and Vercity. You can find out more about Recirculate on their website.
