We are proud to be an Approved Activity Provider for the Duke of Edinburgh's Award (DofE), offering volunteering opportunities for young people aged 16 and over.
Volunteering with us is a rewarding way to complete the Volunteering section of your Duke of Edinburgh's Award while making a positive difference to patients, visitors and staff across our hospitals. Our volunteers freely give their time to support their local NHS, always aiming to act in line with the Trust's values and behaviours.

Depending on availability and service needs, opportunities may include:
- Welcoming and directing patients and visitors.
- Supporting our Hospital Guide services.
- Supporting the ward trolley service.
- Helping to improve the experience of patients and visitors across our hospital sites.

Eligibility
To volunteer as part of your Duke of Edinburgh's Award programme, you must:
- Be aged 16 or over.
- Be able to commit to regular volunteering in line with your DofE Award requirements.
- Complete the Trust's volunteer recruitment process, including any necessary checks and training.
