Glynis’s 50 years and counting

This month, Glynis Nolan, Fast Track Booking Clerk celebrated 50 years since of continuous service within the NHS.

Glynis started her career at Clayton Hospital as part of the Outpatients Medical Records team.

During the five decades she has worked for the NHS, Glynis has lived through many changes to the healthcare sector which has led her to undertake an abundance of different roles within Wakefield.

Glynis, who currently works at Pinderfields Hospital said:

“I have worked in many different roles during my time with the NHS. Mainly booking breast clinics. I think I must have booked well over a million appointments over the years. I enjoy playing my part in the patients’ journey, supporting anxious patients by treating each person with care and respect. I wouldn’t change a minute of the past 50 years.”

With 50 years behind her, Glynis plans to continue building on her years with our Trust .

Marking the milestone, Glynis was presented with a long service certificate for her valued work of putting the patient at the heart of all she does.

Michelle Beaumont, Lead Cancer Manager commented:

“We want to thank you Glynis for all you do for our patients and colleagues at the Mid Yorkshire Hospital NHS Trust. You are an amazing asset.”
