Star accolade for Mid Yorkshire community nurse

A dedicated nurse from Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust has been recognised in the Cavell Star Awards, a national programme celebrating nurses, midwives, healthcare assistants and nursing associates who provide exceptional care.
Mary Brammah, Proactive Clinical Lead, received the award for her outstanding work within the Care Coordination Team, where she supports some of the most vulnerable patients in the community.
The nomination, made by Andrea Parkin, Divisional Director of Nursing for Adult Community Services at Mid Yorkshire, praised Mary for consistently going above and beyond to ensure patients, families, and carers feel supported during difficult times.
Andrea said:
I wanted to recognise Mary, for her ability to show outstanding care, leadership and compassion for everyone in her team, and for the population she cares for across the district. She is an extremely valued team member.
The Cavell Star Awards, run by the national charity Cavell, shine a spotlight on healthcare professionals who make a difference every day.
Speaking after receiving her award, Mary said:
I am overwhelmed to be recognised by my colleague in this way. I just do my job, but this award has reminded me that the little things I do can make a big difference. I am truly honoured and very proud to receive it.
Mary was presented with her Cavell Star medal and pin badge by her team on Monday 1 September.
Talib Yaseen, Chief Nursing Officer at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said:
It’s wonderful to see Mary’s hard work recognised with this prestigious award. She goes the extra mile to ensure patients feel safe, comfortable, and fully involved in their care journey. Mary is an inspiration to her colleagues and a real credit to our organisation.
