Temporary relocation of Haematology, Gate 21

Our Haematology service on Gate 21 at Pinderfields Hospital is temporarily relocating to Gate 38A on floor D, starting from 6 September 2024.

Gate 38A is a temporary building that has been constructed next to our Emergency Department. This is to accommodate our patients whilst upgrade and maintenance works take place within the hospital.

Relevant patients and relatives will be made aware of this move.

In order for the move to go as smoothly as possible, we would like to request that visiting is kept to a minimum until the move has been completed on 16 September. If you are planning to visit Haematology, wayfinding signage is in place to direct you to Gate 38A.

Haematology will be located on Gate 38A for approximately five months.

Initially, Gate 38A has been configured as a 16-bed facility to allow ventilation, maintenance and other upgrade works to be undertaken in the Intensive Care Unit and Haematology. Once these works are complete, the ward will be reconfigured into a 40-bed ward allowing further works to proceed in the remaining Gates, continuing over the next few years until early 2027.
