Local healthcare providers pathway shortlisted at BMJ Awards Ceremony

British Medical Journal quality improvement team of the year finalist banner

The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, working in partnership with local GPs, is proud to announce that its Shared Referral Pathway was shortlisted as a finalist in the Quality Improvement Team of the year category at The BMJ Awards 2021.

This recognises the resilience and commitment from all those involved during the last 18 months of incredible pressures on the NHS.

The Shared Referral Pathway was designed and implemented during the Covid-19 pandemic, to provide additional support to cardiology patients receiving care from their GP, as well as streamlining the process of referring a patient into hospital should they need it. The pathway was also piloted with paediatric, respiratory and gynaecology patients and is now being rolled out in other areas across the Trust.
