Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust meets all safety actions in national maternity incentive scheme
Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust is pleased to confirm that it has met all 10 safety actions as part of the Maternity (Perinatal) Incentive Scheme (MIS) Year 7, a national NHS scheme designed to improve safety and outcomes for women or birthing people and babies.
The MIS, led by NHS Resolution, supports maternity services to strengthen clinical safety, governance and learning. Achieving all required safety actions reflects the Trust’s ongoing commitment to providing safe, high quality maternity and neonatal care.
The Year 7 safety actions cover key areas including workforce planning, clinical safety, learning from incidents and feedback, staff training, and the ongoing improvement of maternity and neonatal care.
Kerry Reede Field, Director of Midwifery, Children’s Nursing and Women’s Health at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said: “We are delighted to have met all 10 safety actions under the scheme for Year 7. This is a significant achievement and reflects the dedication, professionalism and teamwork of our maternity and neonatal colleagues. Patient safety is our highest priority, and this outcome demonstrates our continued focus on learning, improvement and delivering the best possible care for women, babies and families.”
The Trust will continue to build on this work, using the learning from the scheme to further strengthen maternity and neonatal services and support ongoing improvement.
