'Team of the Year' recognition for Systems Development Team
The Systems Development Team at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust are celebrating after being named ‘Finance Team of the Year’ by the Yorkshire and Humber Branch of the Healthcare Financial Management Association.
The team were recognised at the Branch’s annual conference, that also saw Simon Hosey, Head of Financial Accounting and Control, named as Finance Professional of the Year.
They were praised for their exceptional work transforming the finance function through automation, process improvement, and data-driven reporting.
The development and delivery of several improvements has significantly improved efficiency, accuracy, and accessibility of information. As a result, this has allowed finance teams to focus on value-adding tasks while delivering timely, high-quality outputs for the organisation.
The panel also paid tribute to the teams’ innovation and collaboration, concluding that “their dedication, creativity and energy have transformed finance operations.”
Simon Hosey, Head of Financial Accounting and Control, said: “I’m proud of our Systems Development Team being named Yorkshire & Humber HFMA Finance Team of the Year.
“They turn ideas into reliable tools and controls that make finance more accurate, efficient, and genuinely useful.
“I’m especially pleased the team have had nine innovations published on the One NHS Finance Innovation Forum, helping to spread best practice across the NHS by working with partners across the sector.”
