Upcoming changes to visitor car parking charges

cars parked in Pinderfields car park

From 20 April 2026, visitor car parking charges at our three hospital sites – Pinderfields, Pontefract and Dewsbury – will increase by 3.4%. This modest adjustment is in line with inflation and reflects the continually rising costs of maintaining safe, accessible parking facilities.

We want to reassure our patients, visitors and staff that:

  • Short visits under 20 minutes will remain free of charge.
  • All current concessions will continue, including free parking for Blue Badge holders and discounted rates for frequent hospital attenders.

Our aim is to avoid reductions in direct patient care and whilst we understand that any increase in cost is never popular, the decision was made with those using our hospitals in mind and improving the experience they receive as much as possible.

Making small changes in non-clinical areas, such as parking, helps us to protect frontline services and we appreciate your understanding.
