The children’s ward at Pinderfields Hospital has received a kind donation of over £300 from a local charity forum.
The Charity Community Engagement Forum (CCEF) which has been created by employees at Morrisons’ distribution centre at J41 carried out a day of fundraising which saw them raise a total of £610.
Half of the money was donated to the children’s ward at Durham Hospital where the grandson of one of the fundraisers, Martin Douglas, was treated.
“I wanted to give something back to the staff who looked after my grandson so well,” said Martin, “so I approached the CCEF. As the CCEF is all about supporting the local community we also wanted to give something to our local children’s ward at Pinderfields.”
The team on the children’s ward was delighted to receive the money and will be using it to buy items for the parents’ room.
