A Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust colleague who has dedicated 38 years to supporting patients and colleagues has been recognised with a prestigious national award.
Jayne Greenhough has received a Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) Award for Commitment to Quality of Care, recognising her contributions to developing and supporting the Trust’s non-registered workforce.
The Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Midwifery Officer Awards, run by NHS England, recognise the significant contribution made by nurses and midwives across England, as well as healthcare and maternity support workers who consistently demonstrate NHS values in their everyday roles.
Jayne, whose career at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust spans almost four decades, plays an important role in helping Band 2 and Band 3 colleagues develop the skills and confidence they need to provide safe, compassionate care. Through the Care Certificate and Health Care Academy programmes, she supports staff who are new to healthcare at the very beginning of their careers.
She also supports Band 3 apprentices throughout their apprenticeships, working closely with local colleges and ward managers to help colleagues put their learning into practice while developing in their roles.
Feedback from learners has praised Jayne for going “above and beyond” and for the support she provides.
Talib Yaseen, Chief Nursing Officer at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust, said:
“Jayne plays an important role in supporting our workforce and developing the next generation of NHS colleagues, helping them build the skills and confidence to provide the best possible care for our patients. We’re delighted to see her work recognised at a national level.”
The award was presented to Jayne by colleagues from NHS England, who commented on the impressive impact of her dedication.
