Adult inpatient survey results show improvements at Mid Yorkshire | News

We’re pleased to share that results from the CQC Independent adult annual inpatient survey have shown patients had a better experience at Mid Yorkshire sites in 2025.

The annual survey is sent to a random sample of people who have had an inpatient admission at any Mid Yorkshire facility and asks a variety of questions to assess their experience.

In almost a third of questions asked, patient responses showed a significant improvement in comparison to 2024.

Among the areas where patients responded positively were:

— Patients felt they were getting enough support to recover and manage their condition after leaving hospital

— Individual needs: Staff taking into account patients' individual needs, including cultural, religious and mental health needs

— Patients treated while at home – sometimes known as a virtual ward – felt they were kept well informed about their care and treatment.

Chief Nursing Officer, Talib Yaseen OBE, said: “It’s really encouraging to see these survey results heading in a positive direction.

“It’s an acknowledgement of the work our clinical and support colleagues are doing to improve the experience we provide for people who visit our sites. Our teams can take pride in seeing this news and the communities we serve can take confidence that we are working hard to ensure they have a positive experience when in our care.

“We clearly also recognise that whilst these responses are positive, we can still be better. It’s by continuing to learn from every experience that we can make improvements and provide a consistently positive experience.”
