The Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust is delighted to be shortlisted in five categories at the Nursing Times Workforce Awards.

The Trust has been recognised in the ‘Best UK Employer of the Year for Nursing Staff’ category, and international recruitment and Professional Development and Education (PDEU) teams are honoured to be shortlisted for the ‘Best International Recruitment Experience Award’. Senior Research Nurse, Ismaelette (Mymy) Del Rosario, is nominated for both Diversity and Inclusion Champion of the Year and Overseas Nurse of the Year, alongside the Trust’s Legacy mentors who are shortlisted for Workforce Team of the Year for their exceptional work in helping nursing staff to achieve their goals.

The awards aim to recognise and reward the excellent work that is being done by staff and employers to support the nursing and midwifery workforce.

The Trust has paved the way in recent years to provide an outstanding international recruitment process, with projects such as ‘Stay & Thrive’ which provides peer pastoral and cultural support, buddy mentorship and aims to build a community and sense of belonging, in order to make the transition for new staff as seamless as possible.

Len Richards, Chief Executive of the Mid Yorkshire Hospitals NHS Trust, said:

“I’m absolutely thrilled with our shortlisting success. To be nominated in five categories is a huge achievement and recognises the fantastic work our teams are doing across international recruitment, retention, diversity and inclusion.

“Mid Yorkshire Hospitals is one of the region’s largest employers, with over 9,000 members of staff who all work together to make a difference to our patients lives. We are dedicated to making the Trust a brilliant, and inclusive, place to work.

“Not only that, but we have some extremely dedicated members of staff that go above and beyond to represent the Trust’s vision and values, and Mymy Del Rosario is a shining example of this and a credit to the Trust.

“I wish everybody the best of luck and thank you for your continued hard work and dedication.”

The winners will be announced at Nursing Times Workforce Awards ceremony, taking place on Tuesday 22 November 2022 at the Hilton London Metropole.
