Mid Yorkshire colleagues shortlisted for national NHS finance awards

Colleagues at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust have received national recognition, with teams and individuals shortlisted across two major NHS finance awards.

The Finance team has received five nominations and four shortlisted places in the national Value Maker Awards 2026. In addition, Mid Yorkshire's Finance Development Team has been shortlisted for the Shifting from Analogue to Digital Award at the Healthcare Financial Management Association (HFMA) Awards 2026.

The annual Value Maker Awards, run through Future-Focused Finance, and HFMA Awards, run by the Healthcare Financial Management Association, celebrate excellence across NHS finance, recognising the hard work, achievements and contribution of individuals and teams within their organisations and across the wider health service.

Among those shortlisted for the Value Maker Awards are Zeeshan Haider, Assistant Finance Manager, and Amy Whitaker, Chief Finance Officer, who have both been shortlisted in the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) category. Amy Devonport, Assistant Finance Manager, has also secured a place on the shortlist in the Rising Star category, while Wasim Chaudhary, Senior Finance Manager, has been shortlisted for the Innovation Award.

The Trust has received five Value Maker Award nominations overall, with four progressing to the national shortlist, alongside the Finance Development Team’s recognition at the HFMA Awards 2026.

Amy Whitaker, the Trust's Chief Finance Officer, said: “It’s fantastic to see our finance colleagues recognised nationally across both the Value Maker Awards and HFMA Awards.

“The finance team work hard behind the scenes to support our services and patients, and I’m incredibly proud to see colleagues recognised for the contribution they make.”

Winners of both awards will be announced in November.
